Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

Q: Do I need to download an app? No. KedQuest works entirely in the browser. Organizers and players access everything through a web browser — no downloads required.

Q: Is KedQuest free? Yes, KedQuest has a free plan that includes 1 game with up to 10 players and 8 tasks. Paid plans start at $14/month for more games, players, and features.

Q: What devices are supported? Any device with a modern web browser. Smartphones are recommended for players (for camera access and QR scanning). Organizers can use any device, though a laptop is recommended for the dashboard.

Game Creation

Q: How long does it take to create a game? About 10 minutes using the game wizard. With the AI Generator (Pro AI plan), you can create an entire game from a sentence in under a minute.

Q: Can I reuse a game? Yes. After a game ends, you can reset it to run again with new participants. All previous data is cleared.

Q: How many stations can I have? Stations are linked to tasks. Free plan allows 8 tasks, Basic allows 20, and Pro allows 50 tasks per game.

During the Game

Q: What happens if a player loses connection? KedQuest saves player progress automatically. When they reconnect, they can resume exactly where they left off.

Q: Can I send hints to players? Yes, use the Broadcast feature to send messages to all participants. On the Pro AI plan, the AI can also generate personalized hints for stuck players.

Q: How does task approval work? Managers can approve or reject task submissions from their phone. Alternatively, AI validation can automatically evaluate answers.

Account & Billing

Q: Can I change my plan? Yes. Upgrade or downgrade anytime from the Billing page. Changes take effect immediately.

Q: Do you offer refunds? Contact us at contact@kedquest.com within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.

Frequently Asked Questions

Players can't join my game — what should I do?

Make sure the game status is 'Ready' (not ended or locked). Check that the game code is correct, and that participants have internet access. Try sharing the QR code instead of the game code.

The QR code scanner isn't working

Ensure camera permissions are granted in the browser. Try good lighting and hold the phone steady. If it still doesn't work, players can manually enter the game code.

Can I edit a game after it started?

You can make some changes during a running game (like broadcasting messages or locking stations), but major edits to tasks require resetting the game. We recommend finalizing tasks before starting.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to the Billing page in the app and click 'Manage Subscription'. This takes you to the Stripe portal where you can cancel anytime. You'll keep your plan features until the end of the billing period.
